David, you haven’t put the start location? I assume it is Tiverton?

The first in our series of driving masterclasses is coming on Saturday 13th April. It is titled “Position Precision” and focuses on maintaining maximum benefit from your position whilst driving.
It will start with a short talk about the aims of positioning and common mistakes. After this we will head out for a buddied drive on some great Devon roads, have a midpoint stop for debriefing then return to the start point for lunch before swapping seats to see if the co-driver can manage to put into practice the points raised from the morning session.
In all, we will be together for about 4.5 – 5 hours and is a great way to boost your driving skill regardless of your current situation.
Our meeting point is Woody’s Diner at Sourton Cross near Okehampton. For those of you who use What Three Words, use

    See you there at 1000

Ride starts as above post at Exeter M5 Services. Meeting 0930. Leaving at 1000 sharp.

The initial hour of the ride will consist of a gentle jaunt over Woodbury Common and areas leading in to Exmouth. This section of the ride should be used to focus on limit points and gears; to keep a consistent flow around corners.

As we head in to the town, the focus will turn to following the system specifically with complicated or busy junctions. With the main focus being on brake gear overlap (and the reduction of said).

After a short coffee break, we have some slow speed work in one of Exmouth’s very fine car parking areas. If a Harley Davidsons can do the course, we all should be able to.

This will lead us up to lunch and the opportunity for people to leave the ride if Mothers day & family is calling.

For those wishing to stay, there will be a ride along the coastal road to Seaton and finishing at Honiton Services.

Any questions, please ask. The stops have not been confirmed yet.

Looks fresher David, thank you for your work on it. Must admit it is a little busy for me though. (I get confused easily. I think it is the right side panel.

Nice colours though and as I said looks fresher.

I believe it is only cars currently. Glad we already had a vote on it and we are leaving.
Not wishing to be political but we won’t have a say if we stay.

    Hi Nicholas,

Do you want to email me on andy@devon.training or phone on 07878 543 413 preferably after the 3rd January or come along on the 30th December.

I can ask a few of the tutors if any can help out. I am sure we will get you some help.

    Have a good Christmas

    Andy

    October Training Ride

Thank you for the company on Sunday. The weather held out.

Sorry we had to do the twisty roads, I know you all wanted to concentrate on the multi-lane carriageways. But maybe Dartmoor made up for it.

With a little more time and a cafe open at the start, things may have gone a little smoother.

    Remember 0900 start tomorrow

Bring a flask as the Bridge Motorcycle cafe will not be open at the start. So we will not be hanging around after 0930.

We will have a forty minute ride before our first stop. The ride is approx 95 miles long and with at least an hour for lunch, we should be finished mid afternoon.

So far I have only had four people confirm. I need to let Badgers Holt know how many for dinner!

Stan can you bring cones please…

EVERYONE I need to have an idea of numbers as I am planning on lunching at ‘Badgers Holt’ on Dartmoor. They need numbers as the will be busy on a Sunday.

The route may change slightly before Sunday.
