Everyone thinks they're a good rider...right?
But how Vulnerable are we?
If you have had a car pull out in front of you lately or ended up saying to yourself "That was Lucky". Then now is the time to think about how you ride and maybe seek some advanced training.
Training doesn't have to be expensive or boring, there are many roads that you can take if you want to enhance your riding skill and take on the challenge of Advanced Riding. Private Training Schools, The Internet, Friends and books can all aid you development, which ever you choose you have a duty to yourself to make sure it is an approved system. A good willed friend might seem like a viable option, but are you going to end up with their bad habits?
RoPSA however is one of the largest and most respected Safety Organisations in the World, The RoSPA Advanced Riding Test with its graded gold, silver and bronze results is based on the Police System of Motorcycle Control, a well developed and proven system of dealing with hazards. A Gold Award is respected as the highest riding award available to the civilian rider.
Riding a motorcycle on today's roads is a mental and physical challenge which requires constant practice, it demands high levels of concentration. How we recognise hazards and preempt what "could" happen is something that most riders don't practice and they have very little planning involved in their riding, this means that they constantly react to a hazards or other road users actions much too late. How we deal with hazards on the road can mean the difference between riding home or not!
By joining Devon & Somerset Advanced Riders you can be confident in receiving quality training within a well respected syllabus this will be delivered in an individual way tailored to your needs. Wether you go on to take the test or simply want to go round those bends with a little more control or confidence, we can help you.
